Interactive business process curriculum for a global SAP education platform

Epistemy Press LLC · Digital publisher · San Diego, California, USA (Global)
01
Background
Epistemy Press is a digital publisher co-founded by Prof. Simha Magal and Dr. Jeffrey Word, specializing in SAP and enterprise systems education. Their flagship curriculum is used by universities and Fortune 500 companies in over 100 countries.
02
The challenge
The online curriculum delivered concepts through video lectures and digital textbooks. But business process integration is fundamentally about how processes connect — procurement flowing into fulfillment, production into warehouse management. Video treated each concept in isolation. Students never interacted with the relationships between them, and when they moved to hands-on SAP exercises, the gaps showed: understanding how processes interconnect hadn’t transferred from watching to doing.
03
Our approach
Starting with Epistemy Press’s SME-provided curriculum, we built a fully interactive experience. Instead of isolated video segments, the module builds a single progressive model — each concept layers onto the previous one, so learners see how triggers initiate processes, how tasks flow across functional areas, and how outcomes emerge from interdependent steps. Learners explore each layer actively before moving forward — building the complete process framework themselves instead of watching someone explain it.

Isolated video to connected interactive model

Key takeaway

When your subject is how processes connect, isolated video works against the understanding you’re building. Interactive design that layers concepts progressively teaches the relationships — not just the definitions.
